Unveiled as the second Canterbury Rugby Boot drop for 2024, after the recent release of the Canterbury Phoenix Elite & Team Boots, it seems the New Zealand based brand are on track to deliver some of this season’s hottest silos that aren’t just aesthetically pleasing, but technologically “ground breaking“.

Engineered as a result of the insights derived from some of New Zealand’s finest athletes, Canterbury have pulled out all the stops to consider what it means to situate power at the heart of the forward’s game, and it all begins with comfort…
Through utilising player feedback, the fit and comfort of the Stampede Elite is significantly improved over last year’s iteration thanks to a renewed last shape and strategic internal foam placement at key contact zones for enhanced push off.
A knitted tongue wrap is also embedded into the boots construction, providing supreme comfort and midfoot lockdown for additional security, and is further complimented by the Elite’s stability heel lock that ensures lightweight reinforcement, while delivering optimal energy return.
Pebax Flightbeam 2.0
To the soleplate, Canterbury dare to push the boundaries of boot-tech innovation through utilising a renewed soleplate that they dub as the ‘Pebax Flightbeam 2.0‘.
Marking a significant improvement over the already highly successful Pebax Flightbeam outsole found on last year’s model, the renewed Flightbeam 2.0 outsole is a feat of technological innovation.
Comprised of 92% bio-based materials and situating a renewed two-part outsole into the boot’s construction, the Phoenix Elite delivers three times more power for enhanced stiffness, providing greater power transfer and stability under foot when you need it most.
As a result, the forefoot bending stiffness also sees a significant improvement, and is also three times higher; complimented by a wider toe-box and anatomical heel support for a truly optimised and comfortable fit.
Signing off, Canterbury situate 8 x 18 studs for ultimate traction and anchoring that will leave you as unshakeable force in the scrum.
Stampede ‘Ground Break’ Team
In true CCC fashion, Canterbury’s boot offering extends beyond the “Elite” player, and offers beginners and amateur forwards the opportunity to receive premium quality at a price that won’t break the bank.
Again, drawing inspiration from player input and keeping in mind those who thrive off inserting power into their play, the Stampede Team boasts a Flight Beam TPU outsole for higher levels of stiffness , with greater power transfer and stability under foot than last year’s iteration.
A moulded heel and wide toe box continue on the legacy of its Elite counterpart and the pursuit for optimal comfort, and situates eight 18mm studs onto the outsole for enhanced traction.
